Keto Garlic Parm Wings Recipe is flavorful and a nice change from the typical spicy or bbq wings you usually make. This recipe pairs well with keto pizza!
My teen sons love all the chicken wings, so our menu would not be complete without at least one night of crispy wings. This recipe is also perfect for game day and will wow your guests.
Serve with carrot sticks, celery sticks, keto ranch dressing, or sugar-free dipping sauce.
When I host a board game or a sports game night, I serve a full vegetable tray with broccoli, cauliflower, and veggies from above.
In this lifestyle, you want to incorporate as many vegetables as possible.
Parmesan Chicken Wings Recipe:
I’ve never been a big fan of bone-in wings, so I usually make mine using chicken breast.
The cheapest method would be to use chicken thighs and pull the meat, coat, and use either an air fryer or deep fryer. My mom makes the best air fryer wings, so that I will share that recipe soon.
I never used our air-fryer all that much until we bought an air fryer oven. That is amazing, and now I can air fry our entire family’s food simultaneously. Before that, I just used a sheet pan in the oven.
The only method I haven’t tried is pressure-cooking chicken wings, but I’m not sure you could get crispy chicken wings. If you’ve done it, let me know how they turned out.
Another variation for this recipe, if you’re pressed for time, is the new parmesan sauce found in most Walmarts (I got mine at the commissary).
If you’ve never tried G Hughes sugar-free parm peppercorn marinade, it’s a great alternative!
I’m a hot wings and buffalo wings girl, so I plan to share a delicious Thai Chili wings recipe with you soon because it is my favorite, along with some other wing recipes.
It’s too hot for everyone in my family so you’ve been warned!
Cooking Safety Tips: You can use frozen wings in this recipe but please never place the frozen food in a deep fryer. Teen boys can probably tell you a story or two! 😉
Low Carb Chicken Wings Ingredients:
Makes 5 servings
2 Net carbs per serving
25 Chicken wings
- 1/2 tsp. Paprika
- 1/2 tsp. Oregano
- 1 Tbsp. Dried parsley flakes
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1/4 tsp. Black pepper
- 1 tsp. Garlic powder
- 3 Tbsp. Butter unsalted (or olive oil if preferred)
- 2 tsp. Minced garlic
- 1/4 C. Grated parmesan cheese
- Freshly chopped parsley and shredded parmesan for garnish
Keto Garlic Parm Wings Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
2. Mix the paprika, garlic powder, oregano, salt, black pepper, and parsley flakes in a small bowl.
Onion powder is optional; it gives me a headache.
3. Place the chicken wings into a large mixing bowl, and toss them in the seasoning mixture to coat them well.
4. Place the seasoned wings on a wire rack on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake on the oven rack for 40 minutes, turning over halfway through the cooking time. Your meat thermometer should read 165.
5. When the wings are cooked, place them in a large mixing bowl.
6. Heat melted butter in a small skillet over medium-high heat on the stove, and add in the minced garlic.
For best results, brown the butter slightly, and then pour the mixture over the chicken wings.
7. Add the grated parmesan and some freshly chopped parsley to a large bowl with the wings and butter mixture, and toss to coat well.
8. Place cooked wings on paper towels to cool and catch the grease.
9. Serve the wings topped with freshly chopped parsley and shredded parmesan for garnish. Want to add a touch of heat? A dash of red pepper flakes will do the trick!
Store cooked wings in an airtight container lined with paper towels.
Health Tips:
If you’re like me and have familial high cholesterol skip the deep fryer! Baked chicken wings will be healthier for you.
While keto has been shown to lower blood cholesterol in some people, those destined for heart disease we shouldn’t take chances.
I no longer try to fatten everything up. I try to keep healthy fats in my diet while cutting down on processes that make foods overly fattening.
