From hundreds of deals during their annual Prime Day sale (which is coming up in July) to a long list of member benefits, such as free two-day shipping and video and music streaming, Amazon knows what its Prime members want. The retailer offers a lot of savings and perks all year round to keep customers coming back.
With all of those benefits comes a premium cost. When you pay upfront, an Amazon Prime membership will run you about $140 annually and the cost is slightly higher for those who opt into monthly installments that equal around $180 a year. For that amount, it makes sense that customers want value.
At a time when subscription prices are increasing on all fronts, people want to feel like their money is well spent. Now, Amazon is teaming up with a popular meal delivery service to add another perk to its long list of benefits and save members even more.
GrubHub+ Now Comes With Amazon Prime Memberships
GrubHub+ is a fee-based membership food takeaway and delivery service. Previously, Amazon Prime members were able to snag a year of Grubhub+ for no additional fee. After a year, they would automatically be charged for the food delivery service unless they canceled. But now, the benefits will keep rolling.
According to a recent press release, Grubhub’s parent company, Just Eat Takeaway, has reached a five-year agreement with Amazon that allows customers to continue receiving GrubHub+ for free for as long as they are Prime members.
This deal would save those who pay for GrubHub $120 a year. In addition to getting rid of the monthly fee, customers can also save money on food delivery by taking advantage of the membership perks and deals at restaurants. Grubhub+ members are eligible for $0 delivery fees on select orders over $12, reduced service fees, credit on pick-up orders, and more.
How to Amazon Prime Members Can Activate Free Grubhub+
Amazon Prime members using Grubhub+ will not have to download the Gruhub app or access the website to take advantage of their new perk. They can access it right on Amazon, which will direct you to activate your account if you’re a current Prime Member.
To do so, first open the app and press the three lines in the right bottom corner. This will open your shortcuts and allow you to shop by category. Next, under “Shop By Category” select the Prime category with a small photo of an Amazon shipping box. A menu will open and you will see an orange Grubhub icon in a list with familiar categories such as music and video. Then, tap the Grubhub icon to be taken to the main page where you can activate your food delivery membership as well as place orders.
Act fast because Amazon is offering a $5 promo code on Grubhub orders of $25+ until June 2 with the code “PRIME5” But don’t worry if you miss it, GrubHub is known for offering deals so there’s likely more savings on the horizon.
