McDonald’s may have declared summer 2024 the “summer of deals,” but that doesn’t mean it’s limiting its menu plans to just the $5 value meal. As we take to the roads and skies to get us to our summer vacations, we can’t resist a simple trip to Mickey D’s. And what’s a better way to welcome customers to the Golden Arches than with new menu offerings?
Of course, we’ll always love ordering a Big Mac and Coke, but when we’re in the mood for something different, we like to turn to the LTO menu. This summer, that limited-time menu will feature an all-new Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry, plus the return of two fan-favorite burgers.
McDonald’s Brings Back 2 Fan-Favorite Burgers
Starting July 10, McDonald’s is bringing back its Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese and its Smoky BLT Double Quarter Pounder.
These two quarter-pound burgers, topped with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, bacon, and smoky BLT sauce, originally joined menus in 2022 alongside the Oreo Fudge McFlurry. This summer, Ronald McDonald is trading in the chocolatey Oreo for crispy chocolate wafers, strawberries, and bananas in a new dessert, but keeping the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounders the same.
The burgers are an upgraded version of the OG Quarter Pounder with Cheese—adding crispy bacon, juicy tomatoes, crunchy lettuce, and smoky, creamy sauce in place of the traditional pickles, onions, ketchup, and mustard. And, just like the classic, the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese can be supersized to include two quarter-pound patties on the Smoky BLT Double Quarter Pounder.
McDonald’s BLT burgers are quite similar to the Quarter Pounder BLT sold year-round in Canada—however, unlike on the Canadian menu, the U.S. BLTs won’t extend to the breakfast offerings. Seeing as fans longingly awaited the return of the smoky bacon burger for two years, we won’t push our luck by asking for an egg BLT, too.
So, if you’ve been craving the smoky, juicy, crispy burger since you indulged in your last one two years ago, now’s your chance. But, you won’t have long. The Smoky BLT Quarter Pounders are only back for a limited time, so get your ba-ba-ba-ba-butt to the drive-thru ASAP.
