So, we turned to our editors to see what they’re eyeing this Prime Day. Here are 10 recommendations from our very own kitchen gadget experts.
Our Editors’ Favorite Prime Day Deals, at a Glance:
Utopia Towels Kitchen Bar Mops Towels
I tested kitchen towels last year, and my kitchen is now stocked with the winners. I keep a set of Coyuchi’s Waffle Dish Cloths for hands and dishes, but when it comes to the real work of sopping up messes, I turn to the Utopia Towels kitchen bar mop towels. They’re cheap enough that I don’t think twice about using them to mop spills and clean messes—but durable enough that they do the work of pot holders and oven mitts. I’m restocking this Prime Day! — Rochelle Bilow, commerce editor
OXO Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder
My sister is still using a spice grinder to grind her coffee beans, which is especially upsetting to me since I gave her a super-nice drip coffee maker. So, I’ll be buying her one of our favorite coffee grinders and holding it until the holidays. This OXO burr grinder couldn’t be simpler to use: It features a top that twists to adjust the grind setting and just one start/stop button. — Riddley Gemperlein-Schirm, senior commerce editor
Instant 4-in-1 Milk Frother and Steamer
Confession time: I love my Breville Barista Express espresso machine, but I can never make the silky microfoam of my latte dreams. It takes more skill than you’d think to use a steam wand, and the fruit of my frustrated labors is often just a sad, limp pour of scalded milk (cry). Last Christmas I gifted this Instant Pot frother, our top milk frother pick, to one of my friends, and now I’m wishing I kept it for myself. She and her roommates absolutely ADORE it and can whip up a cafe con leche, London Fog, or fluffy hot chocolate on the reg. I’m jealous, and the green monster of envy has won out. While our top pick isn’t on sale, I’m eyeing our best budget milk frother, also from Instant, for myself on Prime Day. — Grace Kelly, associate commerce editor
Gozney Roccbox Pizza Oven
After eyeing outdoor pizza ovens for years, I’m finally thinking of getting a Gozney Roccbox this Prime Day. It heats to 900°F in just 30 minutes and cooks pies evenly. I’ve had it bookmarked since I first learned about it from one of our tests and this might be the summer I become a pizzaiolo, especially now that the Roccbox is 20% of ffor Prime Day. — An Uong, commerce writer
Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker
I’m a multiple-times-a-week ice cream enjoyer, even during New England winters, so I’m definitely tempted to snag our top ice cream maker pick, the Cuisinart 1.5-quart ice cream maker. It was already inexpensive and now that it’s on extra-sale for Prime Day, I’m daydreaming about all the flavors I want to experiment with. Plus, it was the fastest out of all the models we tested, and as someone who wants her ice cream ASAP, I love the idea of whipping up a batch in just about 20 minutes. — An
Homeffect Knock Box
What nobody told me about getting an espresso machine: You also need a knock box. (Trust me—unless you don’t mind having crusty coffee grounds sprayed all over your trash can.) There’s no reason to splurge on a fancy knock box, and this one from Homeffect is cheap, on sale, and the winner of our review. — Rochelle
Rubbermaid Brilliance Airtight Food Storage Containers
Food storage containers are like the socks of my kitchen: the lids always go missing. And just like you can’t just wear one sock, it’s hard to use a container without its lid. I’ll be replenishing my storage container supply with our favorites from Rubbermaid. They have leak-proof seals and lids with latches. Plus, this set comes with so! Many! Sizes! — Riddley
OXO Half-Sheet Pan
The bigger (and, ugh, fine, pickier) my toddler gets, the more frantic meal-prepping I find myself doing each Sunday. That’s all well and good, except I’m currently operating with two half-sheet pans, a bunch of quarters, and far more miscellaneous to-be-roasted vegetables than that!! I’m planning to stock up on these OXO half-sheet pans in order to allow for more efficient Sundays and less opportunity for “nonononONOOOOOOOs.” A girl can dream! — Tess Koman, executive editorial director
Zyliss Swift Dry Salad Spinner
I use my salad spinner for washing almost every piece of produce we eat. In my opinion, it’s a staple product everyone should have. So I am planning to buy one of our top picks, the Zyliss Swift Dry Salad Spinner, on Prime Day for my sister. It’s not the most glamorous of gifts, but it’s practical, and I know it will be well used. — Leah Colins, senior culinary editor
Hiware Parchment Paper Sheets
Is it a bit silly to purchase parchment paper from Amazon? Maybe. But I can’t deal with the rolls of parchment they sell at the grocery store—I must have these Hiware parchment paper sheets that are flat and cut into half-sheet size for ease and convenience! — Genevieve Yam, culinary editor
