Stanley Tucci Just Shared a “Simple and Elegant” Lunch

When it comes to fall entertaining, focusing on comfort meals that are equally delicious and show-stopping is the way to go. Whether it be a bright butternut squash soup or a herb-topped pasta bake, we’re looking forward to making all of our favorite cozy dishes to serve to guests this season.

An underrated option for breakfast, brunch or lunch parties are frittatas. A frittata is such a quick and fun way to put together all of the veggies and fridge staples you have on hand and make a gorgeous plate guaranteed to impress anyone. Stanley Tucci just shared his personal go-to frittata to serve guests in a recent video.

“We’re in Umbria on a little family vacation with some dear friends,” Tucci shares in the Instagram Reel. “So I made this lunch—we’re making lunches at home and sort of going out to dinner for the most part.” The lunch in question features two different types of frittatas that are making our mouths water.

“I found these Tropea onions in the grocery store, and this frittata has Tropea onions, Parmigiano and potato,” the actor and author explains, showing off the egg dish. The other frittata he made omits the onions. Tropea onions are native to Italy, and they are sweeter than your standard yellow or red onion, bringing a balance of flavor to savory dishes.

Tucci’s classic frittatas are made with eggs, meaning they’re packed with protein and nutrients like vitamin D and choline, all of which can help you stay energized throughout the day. Plus, they also appear to be full of herbs like chives, which we feature in our own Potato Frittata recipe. Not to toot our own horn, but we think the Searching for Italy star would approve our choice of adding pancetta and Pamesan cheese to the dish.

But the meal doesn’t stop there: Tucci’s table also includes a platter of sheep’s milk ricotta, a vibrant, traditional caprese salad, a spring mix salad with a simple lemon, garlic and olive oil dressing, anchovies, carta di musica (a crispy Sardinian cracker to pair with the anchovies) and of course, a bottle of wine. This spread is packed with staples of Italian cuisine, and while it looks complex, each element is fairly easy to prepare or buy ahead of time.

“All this produce is so good, and we have a black truffle somewhere, and that’s going to be shaved on top of these two [frittatas],” Tucci says. We’re also loving the abundance of produce on the table, and fans agree.

“That looks perfect. Fresh, simple and tasty,” one commenter wrote.

“My kind of lunch. One question Tucci: why wasn’t I invited?!” another fan commented. Being invited to a Tucci luncheon is definitely on our bucket list, too.
