Costco is now offering a Margherita pizza on a Roman-style Pinsa dough as part of its take-and-bake lineup, available in the prepared foods section. But this isn’t your typical Margherita pizza. In addition to the rich, San Marzano-style tomato sauce and a mix of freshly sliced and shredded mozzarella, you’ll also find stripes of Kirkland Signature’s Italian basil pesto on top, giving the pie a gourmet twist.

At first glance, the pizza looks fantastic, and Costco fans were excited to see a take-and-bake pizza option back in stores after the original was discontinued. However, there’s one detail customers can’t seem to get past: the price tag. At $16.99, it’s significantly higher than what people expect to pay for a take-home meal from the warehouse store.

Costco members have shared their thoughts on social media, and the consensus seems clear: The meal simply isn’t enough bang for the buck. “Maybe for $6.99 but definitely not worth $16.99,” commented one user. “Can make at home for a third the price,” another shared.
