King’s Hawaiian Just Introduced Its First Snack—and We Can’t Stop Eating It

There was a time, we assume, when Hawaiian sweet rolls did not exist. We have no idea how we managed to live without the sweet, fluffy rolls, but somehow we did. And while they work wonderfully as just a dinner roll with butter, they’re also indispensable when making sliders, are the secret ingredient in Guy Fieri’s stuffing, and even elevate French toast.

King’s Hawaiian is widely known for making the golden standard for these versatile little rolls. But now, for the first time, the brand is thinking outside the bun and venturing into the snack space.

King’s Hawaiian Introduces Soft Pretzel Bites

King’s Hawaiian is building on its sweet roll success and adding Soft Pretzel Bites to its lineup. Described as “the perfect mix of sweet and salty to add to your snacking rotation,” the brand suggests eating them right out of the container or dipping them in your favorite sauce. The bite-sized soft pretzels were initially launched over the summer, but with football season here and Oktoberfest on the horizon, there’s never been a better time to try the snack. So how do they taste?

We tried them and found them to be soft and pillowy, with the perfect balance of savory and sweet to take them in either snacking direction. But don’t take it from us—the reviews on the brand’s website are overwhelmingly positive.

Several reviewers gave these bites high praise, with one going so far as to call them “little bites of heaven.” Many like to simply pop them right in their mouth, while others prefer to add a little something. Here are a few ways reviewers suggested serving King’s Hawaiian Soft Pretzel Bites:

  • Dipped in duck sauce
  • Toasted and topped with Nutella (try this Nutella Dip)
  • Warmed in the microwave for about 10 seconds and dipped in beer cheese

Over on King’s Hawaiian’s social media, the brand also shared some creative uses for the bites, including turning them into Cinnamon Roll Bites and giving them the pizza treatment. The brand even threw a nod to its famous Hawaiian roll sliders by making mini sliders on halved Soft Pretzel Bites.

King’s Hawaiian recently partnered with Eli Manning, and we got a chance to speak with him about the new snack. We pressed him on the ultimate head-to-head: sweet or savory. His pick for the GOAT pretzel pairing? None other than the classic—a spicy mustard dip. ”It’s fall, I need a little spice,” Manning added.

However, if you are Team Sweet, we have another idea. Last year, around the holidays, Trader Joe’s came out with a Pretzel Bread Pudding that was a 10/10. Sadly, it was a seasonal product that quickly disappeared from shelves. Luckily, we have a recipe for Pretzel Roll Bread Pudding that’s practically begging to be made with the Soft Pretzel Bites. Pro tip: Buy two packages because you’ll want to nibble on one while the bread pudding is cooking.

You can find King’s Hawaiian Soft Pretzel Bites on retail shelves nationwide now.
