Snack Mix Recalled Due to Undeclared Allergen

There’s an active recall on snack mix sold in 8 states and regions, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). This is due to undeclared almonds and cashews in the product.

The snacks affected are 3.25-ounce containers of Grabeez brand The Big Cheese Snack Mix cups. The cups impacted have a best before date of “041625” and a UPC of “0 94184 00439 8” stamped on the bottom. The snack mixes were sold at retail locations from August 23, 2024 through September 19 in following states and regions: District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

The recall was announced after a consumer reported finding tree nuts in the cup. The packaging firm then discovered that The Big Cheese mix labeled was on another mix, which contains raisins, sunflower seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds and cashews.

The company urges that consumers who have purchased the product should throw it away or submit for a refund on their website. While no illnesses were reported connected to this recall, those with a tree nut allergy could experience symptoms of anaphylaxis when consuming this product. This includes hives, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and, in severe cases, throat tightness, trouble breathing and cardiac arrest. Call 911 immediately if you are showing any of these signs after eating the recalled snack.

Those with questions about this recall can contact the company at marketing@trulygoodfoods.com or call 704-602-0610 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST.
