It’s October, which probably means you’re in the spooky spirit as we count down the days to Halloween. We know we’ve already had to restock our Reese’s Pumpkins and Pumpkin Pie M&M’s a few times—and the trick-or-treaters haven’t even come knocking yet.
While most people probably expect releases in October to revolve around Halloween, Wendy’s is about to change that narrative. Even though other fast food restaurants have launched Halloween-specific items—like Burger King’s “The Addams Family” menu and Dunkin’s adorable Munchkins Bucket and Potion Macchiato—Wendy’s has a different kind of collaboration this month. Besides, the adorable Frosty toys in the Frosty Frights Kids’ Meal would be a pretty difficult Halloween meal to beat this year.
Wendy’s New Krabby Patty Kollab
To celebrate 25 years of “SpongeBob SquarePants,” Wendy’s is bringing the show’s iconic Krabby Patty to life for the first time ever. Sure, we’ve been able to enjoy the gummy Krabby Patties candy for years, but no chain restaurant has ever offered it in real life—until now.
Wendy’s Krabby Patty Kollab includes two all-new menu items: the Krabby Patty Kollab Burger and Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty.
Wendy’s Krabby Patty burger is made with a quarter-pound burger, two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and a “top-secret” Krabby Kollab sauce on a premium bun. Of course, Wendy’s had to bring some mystery to the burger—Plankton can never get ahold of the secret Krabby Patty formula, after all.
The new, first-of-its-kind Frosty is a fun take on SpongeBob’s pineapple-shaped home. It’s made with the Vanilla Frosty and a Pineapple Mango purée swirl. This does mean that the beloved Vanilla Frosty will come off the menus for a limited time, so be sure to get your last tastes now because we don’t know when the Vanilla Frosty might return.
Wendy’s Krabby Patty Kollab will hit menus at participating restaurants nationwide—and in Canada and Guam—on Oct. 8. It’ll be available both in-restaurant and via the Wendy’s app while supplies last.
Fans have been speculating about this collaboration for months, and after 25 years of watching Bikini Bottom residents enjoying the iconic burger, we have to say we’re as excited to try it as SpongeBob is to go to work at the Krusty Krab every day.
