What is Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2024?
For 2024, the sale runs through the end of today, Wednesday, October 9. Like its summer counterpart Amazon Prime Day, Prime Big Deal Days (or, as some have called it, October Prime Day) is a 48-hour sales event offering, in many cases, significantly slashed prices to Prime members. If you’re not one already, a membership costs $14.99 per month, or $139 per year, and includes perks like free two-day shipping, a Prime Video streaming subscription, and Grubhub+ membership. If you’re not sure whether that’s worth it, you can use the button below to get a free 30 day trial.
Kitchen deals for Amazon Prime Big Deal Days
As with our past roundups of the best Prime Day deals, we’ve handpicked a bunch of the best kitchen sales happening right now. We focused most of our energy on finding products or brands that have performed well in our tests. But, of course, if you’re not too finicky and just want to save a bundle on a product that will do the job, we also included some items we found on sale for between 50% and 80% off.
Cookware on sale right now
Whether you’re hosting the holidays or just ready to return to the range for baking, braising, or simmering soups as the weather gets chillier, we found a few nonstick frying pans, cast iron skillets, dutch ovens, and baking sheets to meet your needs. Our top pick in nonstick skillets from GreenPan is currently 40% off, or if you prefer stainless steel, a set of our favorite from All-Clad is also on sale. Lodge dutch ovens are nearly half off, and you can also save a few bucks on our perennial pick in the category, Le Creuset. We don’t necessarily recommend entire cookware sets (we generally think it’s better to build your collection piece by piece) but if you’re just starting out or starting over with your pots and pans, there are some big bargains to be found on brands whose individual pans we’ve liked.
Featured deal: All-Clad D3 Stainless Steel 2 Piece Fry Pan Set
All-Clad makes some of our favorite cookware in the game, and their D3 line of stainless steel pots and pans consistently comes out on top in our product reviews because of its quality construction and aluminum core that allows the pans to heat quickly and evenly while remaining relatively lightweight compared to solid stainless-steel options. These frying pans are a test kitchen favorite too and you can grab a set of two for a steep discount right now.
Small kitchen tools on sale right now
Big ticket items are usually what come to mind when we think of scoring a great Amazon Prime Day deal. But don’t forget to think small: kitchen tools, cooking utensils, and other gadgets that aren’t that expensive to begin with, but can be found even cheaper right now. We found items from KitchenAid, Oxo Good Grips, and more below.
Featured deal: Joseph Joseph PrecisionPin Baking Adjustable Rolling Pin
We typically recommend wooden French-style tapered rolling pins, but this model from Joseph Joseph is a great choice if you’re baking anything that requires you to get a particularly even thickness (think holiday sugar cookies, pie dough, fondant and the like). It’s got measurement markings on the shaft of the rolling pin and a set of screw-on spacers that guarantee whatever you’re rolling out will be perfectly even from edge to edge.
Featured deal: Chef’n FreshForce Citrus Juicer
A longtime favorite juicer of ours, this Chef’n model is heavy duty, durable, and capable of squeezing as much juice out of a lemon as any other handheld squeezer. Citrus squeezers are one of those essentials people sometimes forget about, so Prime Day is a great chance to get it back front and center when you can get one on sale.
Featured deal: John Boos Boos Block CCB Series Large Reversible Wood Chopping Cutting Board
If there’s one thing you absolutely need in your kitchen, it’s a cutting board. This is the surface you’ll do most of your meal prep on—dicing, slicing, mincing, and chopping, or even just using it to organize your mise en place. We generally recommend having a plastic and wooden cutting board on hand (as well as a rubber board, if that’s more your thing), and our absolute favorite wooden board out there is the Boos Block. This particular block is a lot larger and more cumbersome than our recommended size, but it still has all of our favorite qualities—a nice sturdiness that absorbs every movement of the knife, plenty of space for all your prep-work, and a refined curb appeal that means you could leave this bad boy out on your counter 24/7.
Coffee makers on sale right now
If there’s one thing we take seriously, it’s coffee. (In fact, we have a whole page of Prime Big Deal Days coffee products for you here.) But we’ve distilled our picks down here to help you out if you haven’t had a cup yet. Regardless of if you want an espresso machine, a drip coffee maker, or a single-serve coffee maker, nearly every kind of coffee maker is on sale. Right now, our quality drip coffee makers from Café are on sale, as is our favorite budget coffee maker from Braun. Or you can be your own barista with espresso machines from Breville and De’Longhi. If you like to take your mornings slower, some of our favorite French presses from Espro are discounted, too. Though they’re on sale, we don’t have any Keurig machines below (we’re just not big fans of the coffee that comes out of them), but we do like the capsule coffee makers from Nespresso (with an included Aeroccino milk frother) and Bruvi. Plus we found some coffee accessories, like grinders, frothers, and kettles to help you dial in on that perfect cup.
Featured deal: Café Specialty Grind and Brew
Yes, Café, the high design sub-brand of GE makes good looking coffee makers. But they also make good coffee makers, full stop. Their Grind and Brew is certified to brew to the Specialty Coffee Association’s Golden Cup standard, keeping water temperature and coffee-to-water ratio in the right balance to produce the best flavors. And the built-in burr grinder grinds coffee beans straight into the reusable filter. It’s also got a smartly designed app that lets you schedule and start brews from all over the house, so you don’t even have to get out of bed to get your coffee read.
Featured deal: Fellow Stagg EKG Electric Gooseneck Kettle
If you’re a pour-over person, and you’re not yet using a Fellow Stagg EKG Electric Kettle, take advantage of today’s deal as an excuse to make the switch. Fellow is leading the game in specialty coffee gear, and many of our editors use this electric gooseneck kettle at home. In addition to looking great on your counter, it has a handful of features that enhance the experience of making a cup of pour-over coffee, including a dial that lets you set the temperature of the water in single-digit increments from from 135ºF to 212ºF, a built-in brew timer, and an automatic 60-minute temperature hold.
Knives on sale right now
You can’t get more basic, or more essential, than a good chef’s knife. One of our top picks and our budget pick are both on sale right now, as are name brands like Wüsthof, Zwilling, and the latter’s other brand Henckels. A chef’s knife from Shan Zu, which we tested based on its positive Amazon reviews, is nearly half off. And you can score a great price on a Wüsthof. Santoku knife or set of chef’s knives, too.
Kitchen appliances on sale right now
Most Prime Days we find a great selection of air fryers, toaster ovens, multi-cookers like Instant Pot, food processors, KitchenAid stand mixers, and Vitamix blenders, and this Prime Big Deal Days is no different. Check out the products from brands we’ve tested, like Breville’s food processor (our number one choice in the category), plus if you’re really looking to bargain hunt on air fryers, we’ve got a separate list of even more air fryer deals here.
Featured deal: Vitamix 5200 Blender
This is our favorite blender because it’s the best. It repeatedly comes out on top in our testing and many of our editors use it at home. It also goes on sale almost every Prime Day. Sometimes it sells out right away and other times, like this during this October Prime Day, tracking the sale price is practically a full-time job (last night it was down to $300). Considering the sale ends at at midnight tonight, this is probably the lowest price you’re going to see until Black Friday—so if you want the best blender at the best price before you begin your holiday cooking, add the Vitamin 5200 to your cart right now.
Featured deal: Breville Sous Chef Food Processor
Cuisinart might be the most famous name in food processors, but Breville is actually the best in our opinion. The Sous chef is big and powerful, and made short work of all the vegetables in our testing. Plus this one comes with a dicing kit to produce perfectly even mirepoix with no effort from you required.
Featured deal: Breville the Smart Oven® Air Fryer Pro
Along with making one of our favorite espresso machines and food processors, Breville also makes one of our top-tested toaster ovens. Not only does it consistently perform well—perfectly cooking chicken thighs, pizza, and toast—it also comes with a ton of extra features that help set it apart from other toaster ovens. There’s Breville’s smart feature, the Element IQ, which helps the machine to adjust the heat temperature as needed, and even a Joule Oven app that helps heighten the oven’s versatility.
Featured deal: Vitamix Immersion Blender
Do you dream of someday owning a Vitamix blender for all your smoothie-making needs, but lack the counter space or funds to commit to right now? Or perhaps you have a great pitcher blender in the back of a cabinet but don’t use it as often as you’d like because getting it out is a whole thing? In either case, consider this powerful Vitamix immersion blender. It can do nearly anything a full-size blender can do and it’s less cumbersome to use, a breeze to clean, and it tucks nicely into a kitchen drawer when you don’t need it.
Featured deal: Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 5-1/2-Cup Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker
Zojirushi rice cookers repeatedly come out on top in Epi’s product tests. The best model for you really depends on your needs and your budget, but if you’re new to rice cookers, or want to upgrade from something that’s not a Zojirushi, consider the Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy 5½-Cup Rice Cooker. It can actually make up to 10 cups of rice and features Zojirushi’s “Neuro Fuzzy” technology—which adjusts the time and temperature as needed for perfect rice every time, even if you mess up the rice-to-water ratio. In addition to cooking and reheating rice, this model has “keep warm” and “extended keep warm” functions, plus heatproof handles on the side of the inner pot and a detachable inner lid for easy cleanup. And at a 30% markdown, this is one Prime Day sale you won’t want to miss.
Kitchen gadgets on sale right now
One way to level up your cooking is to focus on precision, which is where some of these gadgets can help. One of our top choices in digital meat thermometers is on sale, as are kitchen scales we liked, including one from Oxo Good Grips. Get more tools in one with KitchenAid’s new cordless bundle featuring a blender, a chopper, and even a vacuum for tidying up. Speaking of clean (and green) you can also grab Vitamix’s FoodCyclers compost bin for over half off.
Featured deal: Meater Plus
No griller should be without a good meat thermometer, and with its current discount, the Meater Plus is one of the most affordable ones you can get. It will give you a pretty good guess as to when your cook is going to complete and you can even track all your smokes and slow cooks even when you aren’t at home thanks to the Meater’s cloud capabilities.
Featured deal: Duxtop Portable Induction Burner (9600LS)
If you’re curious about cooking with induction, or just need an extra burner to have on hand for the holidays, you should definitely add a portable induction cooktop to your cart today. This single-burner model from Duxtop repeatedly performs the best in Epi’s thorough product testing and even at full price, it’s the best value for the money for most home cooks. It’s compact enough to tuck into a drawer or cabinet when you’re not using it and powerful enough to boil water faster than whatever residential range you have in your kitchen.
Kitchen appliance accessories on sale right now
If you’ve already got a KitchenAid stand mixer on your countertop or you’re imminently making room for one, we’re here to remind you that this workhorse of the baking season can do more than mixing and stirring. That’s thanks to its array of attachments like a spiralizer, pasta roller, ice cream maker, and more we’ve found on sale below. And when you’re not using your mixer, you can keep it cozy in a quilted cover, also on sale for under twenty bucks.
Featured deal: Vitamix 12-Cup Food Processor Attachment
If you have a Vitamix Ascent or Venturist model, then you already know what powerhouse machines these blenders can be. This food processor attachment takes your favorite blender to a whole new level. By plugging in to your blender’s motorized base, you can chop, slice, shred, and even knead dough, all without having to add another bulky appliance to your countertop.
Prime Big Deal Days sales on cleaning and food storage
Nothing says the holidays quite like leftovers. Check out these deals on glass containers and our some of our favorite plastic containers from Joseph Joseph to use when storing your meal prep, as well as Stasher reusable silicone bags, so you have something to put all of those extra servings in. There are also pantry and under-sink storage solutions to keep things organized while you whip up meals for all of your friends and relatives or just for yourself.
Featured deal: Tineco Floor ONE S7 PRO Cordless Wet Dry Vacuum
If you don’t clean your floors as often as you’d like because doing so is A Whole Thing, you’re probably in need of a mop vacuum. These do-it-all devices suck up wet and dry messes on hardwood floors, tile, and laminate, while also mopping with a continuous stream of clean water (usually with a proprietary cleaning solution). Yes, they vacuum and mop at the same time. After testing 12 models, senior commerce writer Emily Farris recommends this one from Tineco. It’s an efficient smart device with lots of great features, but what really sold her is the edge-to-edge microfiber brush roller—which can clean within a quarter-inch of your walls or baseboards so there’s not a huge strip of dirty floor left behind.
Featured deal: Bentgo Stainless Steel Lunchbox
Your lunch deserves a bento box upgrade. Bento is a Japanese tradition of neatly arranged food items in a compartmentalized box, and it’s a way for the preparer to show expression to the recipient. This modern stainless steel bento features a removable divider, airtight lid, and leak-proof silicone seal and works for hot and cold food items. A bento box serves as the perfect canvas for a creative lunch—imagine playful-shaped vegetables, rice balls, and character food picks.
Prime Big Deal Days sales on necessary kitchen gear
Sure, all the discounts on things like KitchenAid Artisan stand mixers and Vitamix blenders are the big stars of this October Prime Day—but we can’t forget other small necessities like dishware and anti-fatigue mats when talking about the best kitchen deals. There’s deals on a paper towel pump and dish drying rack from Simplehuman (otherwise known as the “Apple of homewares”), an kitchen mat that will help prevent any tiredness as you prep all those Thanksgiving dishes later this year, and so much more. Re-up on some new plates or wine glasses—and don’t forget to snag a new fire extinguisher.
Featured deal: NewLife by GelPro Ergo-Foam Anti-Fatigue Mat
After testing 12 different anti-fatigue mats earlier this year, senior commerce writer Emily Farris crowned GelPro’s professional-grade NewLife mat the best for using in the kitchen. It offers the perfect amount of squishy but not-too-squishy support and the top is nicely textured so you won’t slip even if you splash a little water on it. Unlike other mats that shifted with use, this one actually stayed in place too. And today, you can snag one on sale.
Featured deal: First Alert PRO10 Rechargeable Commercial Fire Extinguisher
Did you know that your kitchen fire extinguisher shouldn’t actually be in the kitchen? Like your kitchen smoke detector, it should be in an easily accessible spot near the kitchen so if there’s a kitchen fire, you can grab it easily and safely. Did you also know that you should replace your fire extinguisher about every ten years and when you do, it should be the A-B-C kind that can put out all the types of fires that might start in a kitchen? If you don’t remember when you bought yours, if it’s expired (there should be a date stamped on the bottom), or if it doesn’t have an A, B, and C on the label—do yourself a favor and snag this First Alert fire extinguisher while it’s 15% off. It could save your life someday.
