I think that this takes so much better than regular ranch dip, and I love that it has a higher protein to it as well. It’s a simple healthy veggie dip that even picky eaters like – so I count that as a win! A cup of this high protein dip has almost 20 grams of protein. It’s amazing how fast you get creamy cottage cheese once you use the food processor.

The creamy texture makes it perfect for dipping fresh vegetables, chips, chicken tenders, and more. It’s also a super simple after-school snack and easy dip for parties as well. So many options to serve this easy cottage cheese dip recipe!

Step Two: Pulse until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Top Tip💡

If you don’t have a food processor, you can use a high-speed blender. It will still give a creamy, thick texture to the dip every single time.

Substitutions

  • Container of cottage cheese – You can use low-fat cottage cheese or any type that you want.
  • Sour cream – For a tangy flavor, you can use sour cream or plain Greek Yogurt instead of mayonnaise.

Variations

  • Seasonings – There are so many different ways to change the flavor. Add cayenne pepper for some heat, add lemon juice for extra tang, oregano will add a Mediterranean flavor. This ranch cottage cheese dip is versatile in how it can be seasoned.

Due to the ingredients in this dip, I don’t recommend freezing. Eating it fresh is best.

Common Questions

What should I serve with this creamy ranch dip?

Fresh veggies are always my go-to! Baby carrots, celery sticks, sliced cucumbers – all a winning choice. You can also serve chips or crackers with the creamy base or even use it as a dip for pita bread or toast.

How can I thin out this dip?

To thin out the dip, simply add a little milk (almond milk, coconut milk, and other alternatives work well). I always add a tiny amount, stir, assess, and then add more if I need to.

If you want to use this dip as a salad dressing, you can thin it out with the milk of your choice so that it’s easier to drizzle or pour. So many options! Just add the milk slowly and stir so that you don’t make it too runny to use.

Can I make this dip in advance?

You can! If you need to save on time, you can prepare this simple homemade dip in advance. Simply follow the steps on the recipe card, and then store it in an airtight container in the fridge.

It should keep for a day and be nice and cold when it’s ready to serve. Give it a good stir before serving up with a plate of fresh vegetables or anything else that you’re craving.
