The 2-Ingredient Trader Joe’s Snack Fans Are Eating by the Box

Every time I head to Trader Joe’s, I easily end up with a shopping cart full of snacks. While some of the store’s best treats are more well known, like its peanut butter cups and copycat Takis, some TJ’s snacks are hidden gems.

One current seasonal item falls into the lesser-known category. But just because it’s a little less hyped doesn’t make it any less delicious. This item is so irresistible that fans use it to make a snack combo that vanishes at an alarming rate.

Trader Joe’s New Strawberry & Jalapeño Crisps

Trader Joe’s Strawberry & Jalapeño Crisps are a seasonal variation of its Fig & Olive Crisp and are only available in summer. The TJ’s website describes the crisp as a buttermilk cracker base with sunflower seeds, a little heat from dried jalapeño, and hints of “jammy” dried strawberries.

The sweet and spicy pairing might sound a little strange at first, but TJ’s says this combo is “truly transcendent.” Plus, if strawberries and jalapeños go together in margaritas, the website says, why not put them in a cracker? My mouth is watering already.

What to Pair with Trader Joe’s Strawberry & Jalepeño Crisps

In case these crackers don’t sound delicious enough already, customers are pairing them with goat cheese to make a truly “dangerous” combination.

One particularly excited user posted on Reddit that they “just want to talk” with whoever suggested trying the crisp with goat cheese. “Oh my GOD THIS IS SO DANGEROUS. I have eaten the entire box. I will be going back tomorrow for more. I will girl dinner my way into the abyss with this combo. I’m not quite sure how I considered my prior existence truly ‘living’ not knowing this combo existed.”

Not only do I love this enthusiasm, but now I am unsure how I’ve gone this long without trying the combo myself.

Other TJ’s fans have added that they have also “blown through” boxes of the snack. Another said they had gone back for the snack combo at least three times since discovering it.

Some suggested additional upgrades to this two-ingredient snack, such as blueberries or TJ’s Tart Cherry Fruit Spread. If goat cheese isn’t your thing, cream cheese or Brie would also be a great pairing.

While this item is seasonal, lucky for us, TJ’s has a wide variety of crisps and crackers available all year. Once these Strawberry & Jalapeño Crisps are gone for the season, there will be no need to be sad. The other options, such as the Fig & Olive Crisps, might not have the same sweet and spicy combo, but I won’t object to testing all of them until I find my favorite to tide me over until next summer.

I certainly never need an excuse to try a new TJ’s snack, and it looks like I’m adding a new item to my shopping list this week. Let’s hope it lives up to the hype.
