Popeyes Is Giving Away Free Sandwiches for the Next 2 Weeks

We have to admit that we’re not usually excited about food holidays made up by marketers. Isn’t the upcoming season of celebrations enough? But when we heard the words “free” and “Popeyes,” our ears perked up.

It turns out that two of those darned days are auspiciously close together. National Sandwich Day falls on Nov. 3, while National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day is just six days later, on Nov. 9. What does that mean for Popeyes fans? Free sandwiches for two weeks!

From Oct. 28 through Nov. 10, chicken sandwich fans can get a free sandwich through the app and expand their horizons while they do it. They can choose any of the three Popeyes chicken sandwiches, including the Classic, Spicy, and the new Ghost Pepper Chicken Sandwich.

The Ghost Pepper Chicken Sandwich debuted on Oct. 7, and Popeyes promises that, despite boasting a sauce made with one of the spiciest chiles on the planet, the sandwich is “scary good, but not scary spicy.” That means it will have appeal even beyond Halloween. How could it not when it features the brand’s signature crispy buttermilk-battered chicken breast on a buttery brioche bun with barrel-cured pickles to complement the heat of the sauce?

How to Get Your Free Popeyes Chicken Sandwich

The key to scoring your bounty is downloading the app. Already have it? Great! To take advantage of the deal, you must place your order through the Popeyes app.

Once you’ve ordered $10 worth of food for pickup or delivery, the chicken sandwich of your choice will be free. That means that it’s easy to get to the offer once you’ve selected a single meal. For example, a three-piece Classic Signature Chicken Combo is $12.99—more than enough to earn you a sandwich for nothing.

The deal gives us something to be thankful for, leading up to another favorite food-based holiday. But for that, you’ll be ordering Popeyes’ famous Cajun Turkey. Now that is certainly worth a free sandwich—since it’s frozen, you can order it a little early as long as you have the freezer space. Maybe food holidays aren’t so bad after all.
