Which KitchenAid stand mixer should you buy?
A few factors are going to come into play when it’s time to choose a stand mixer. First (and simplest to decide on) is capacity. Generally, the mixers with tilt-head design are smaller, ranging from the tiny 3.5-quart “Mini” model all the way up to a five quart bowl. They’re also usually cheaper. Bowl-lift style mixers range from five quarts to seven quarts. Next, your motor power and internal materials may vary by which model line you choose. This is where the “Mini,” “Classic,” “Artisan,” “Deluxe,” and “Professional” part of the product name come into play. More expensive models like the Professional series feature all-metal gears, while lower-end models like the Artisan contain some nylon gear components that won’t be as durable in the long run. This is why your parents’ stand mixer from the ‘70s may still be up and running while newer ones sometimes last fewer than than 10 years. Those less durable mixers may also have a harder time standing up to super dense doughs. Beyond that, some mixers come in specific colors, premium finishes, or include accessory packages or limited-edition bowls in materials like ceramic and wood.

KitchenAid Stand Mixers on sale right now
Sure, Amazon might be your go-to for finding, well, just about everything, but don’t sleep on manufacturer websites when it comes to Black Friday deals. KitchenAid.com has exclusive colors on sale, including the beautiful, blue-green Agave. Plus there are great on-site deals for the heftier 5.5-quart, and the 7-quart bowl-lift stand mixers with “premium touchpoints” (i.e. the levers and knobs) are available for $230 off.
Artisan Series stand mixers
The Artisan Series is one of KitchenAid’s most popular product lines, and a consistent top pick in our stand mixer product test. It comes in an impressive array of color options (over 20!), has a 5-quart capacity that’s perfect for just about any baking project a home baker could dream up, and is available with either a glass or stainless steel bowl. If space is a concern, check out the Artisan Mini mixer instead. It has a smaller overall footprint, but its 3.5-quart capacity is still big enough for a full batch of cookies, cake, or whatever else you’re making—plus it’s $80 off right now.
Professional Series stand mixers
If you frequently find yourself baking large batches of cookies or heftier baked goods that require a bit more power to properly mix, a Professional Series mixer is the one for you. They combine a larger bowl size with a stronger motor, plus a bowl-lift design.
Classic Series stand mixers
The Classic Series is perhaps the most basic in KitchenAid’s mixer lineup. It’s available in up to three colors and has a slightly smaller bowl capacity than the full-sized Artisan, but it still affords you the high performance level that KitchenAid is known for.
Deluxe Series stand mixers
The KitchenAid Deluxe sits somewhere between the Classic and Artisan in terms of motor power. It has the slightly smaller bowl size of the Classic, but a wider range of color options like the Artisan.
KitchenAid Stand Mixer Bowls on sale for Black Friday
After you’ve picked out a KitchenAid mixer in a color you love, it’s time to accessorize. Some models come with their own specific bowls — including wood, ceramic, and hammered copper — but KitchenAid offers additional mixer bowls in a variety of textures, colors, and materials, too. The handy clear glass bowl with measurement markings (and a lid!) is on sale, as is a special use bowl specifically for bread baking and the ice cream-making bowl attachment for adding frozen treats to your stand mixer-centric lifestyle. It also never hurts to pick up an extra stainless steel bowl so you can easily swap them out during any upcoming holiday baking marathons.
KitchenAid Mixer Attachments and Accessories on sale for Black Friday
One of the main features that sets KitchenAid’s stand mixer apart from the crowd of other stand mixers (yes, there are other good stand mixers out there like this one from Breville) is the versatility of its accessory port on the front of the mixer head. With the help of dozens of available attachments, this allows you to turn your mixer into a spiralizer for peeling batches of apples (hello cobbler) or making shoestring fries, a food processor for saving some much-needed counter space while prepping, or a meat grinder, a pasta roller, grain mill, and so much more. Then there are the beater paddle upgrades, like one with a flexible edge to scrape down the sides of the bowl, or specific slatted beaters for pastries. Plus, you can get a great deal on a quilted cover for your stand mixer when it’s not in use (whenever that may be). Take a look at these useful add-ons below.
Other KitchenAid mixers on sale for Black Friday
Along with stand mixers, KitchenAid makes a few regular hand mixers for those who haven’t got the counter space for a hefty stand mixer. While they might not pack the same punch as a stand mixer, they’re powerful (if a little heavy) and pretty reasonably priced—especially this Black Friday. Their standard model comes in two different versions: one with three standard speed settings and one six speed settings. If you don’t want to worry about getting twisted up in a plug-in chord, KitchenAid’s cordless, rechargeable hand mixer is also for sale. It’s easy to wield and the battery will last you through an hour of mixing.
KitchenAid blenders on sale for Black Friday
Vitamix normally reigns supreme in our best blender testing, but our favorite budget pick actually goes to KitchenAid. While you can’t necessarily use this blender to make nut butters or milks, it will blend together some especially velvet-y smoothies and crush ice well. In fact, we found it did even better than KitchenAid’s other more high-performance blender. It’s easy to use, with only a few functions, and is also pretty affordable compared to other blenders we recommend—even more so this Black Friday. If you haven’t got room for a full-sized blender, then KitchenAid’s also got a handheld blender. Otherwise known as an immersion blender, the KitchenAid hand blender is basically a mini, compact blender you can stow away in a kitchen drawer. It’s not as powerful as a regular blender, but it’s a great option for people who tend to do smaller blending tasks. This model’s even cordless, so you don’t need to worry about staying near an outlet when need to blend the roasted veggies in your Dutch oven to make a soup. Alternatively, get the model with the accessory pack (also on sale) and turn your hand held blender into a real kitchen workhorse.
KitchenAid Appliances on sale for Black Friday
As we’ve established, KitchenAid is more than just mixers. Like the name implies, the brand makes a variety of kitchen tools and gadgets. A lot of them we’ve tried, liked, and even recommend. Like the KitchenAid burr coffee grinder (on sale now)—which used to be one of our favorite coffee grinders in testing because of its versatile 70 different grind settings and the fact it can grind directly into a portafilter. A ton of their small appliances, from food processors to coffee makers, are available in their striking colorways like Empire Red and classic stainless steel to match your kitchen’s carefully curated aesthetic. Check out great deals below on KitchenAid’s espresso makers, toasters, and an air fryer oven, as well as its latest cordless line of hand mixers, stick blenders, and other products with an interchangeable battery. As an added bonus, if you purchase two or more appliances on KitchenAid.com, you can use code ‘BMSM’ at checkout to score an extra 10% off your order.
