Tom Holland’s Granny’s Christmas Dessert Is “So Good”

Everyone has their favorite holiday dessert. For Donna Kelce, it’s chocolate chip cookies. For Alex Cooper, it’s a slice of pie with vanilla ice cream. And for Tom Holland, it’s a warm treat made by his Granny Tess every Christmas.

On a recent episode of the Dish podcast, the Spiderman star gave us insight into his Christmas dinner plans—including the main course and the dessert the Holland family will be enjoying.

Any family gathering is going to have delicious food in the actor’s household, primarily because his brother is a trained chef.

“My brother Sam is a chef, and he’s fantastic,” Holland says. “He has been a chef for about five years now working professionally, and each year Christmas dinner is getting better and better and better.”

For Christmas this year, Sam is whipping up slow-roasted pork as the main protein, which according to Holland makes the house smell amazing. But sweet is needed alongside the savory, and this year Holland’s grandmother is making a dessert worth bragging about.

“She’s Irish and she’ll do the most, she’ll do an apple and rhubarb crumble, which I love,” he shares. “I love the tartness of the rhubarb, I think it’s so good.”

A crumble with both apple and rhubarb is bound to be vibrant, which makes it perfect for the Christmas table. Plus, it’s easy to serve up to guests: simply scoop and go, and perhaps top it off with some ice cream or whipped cream.

We think Holland’s family would love our own rhubarb crumbles, like this Raspberry-Rhubarb Crumble or Skillet Strawberry-Rhubarb Crumble. They’re easy to swap in apples if you’re looking to replicate Granny Tess’ dish, but both have that same pop of red that is hard to pass up.

And alongside the food traditions, Holland’s family will be playing cards and spending time together, which is truly what the holiday season is all about.
